Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 Rooting Guide

This guide will help in easily rooting your Gingerbread Galaxy S GT-i9000. This guide will help install DarkyROM XXJVU Resurrection Edition.



This edition provides ready-made and all credit goes to Ficeto and everyone else at DarkyROM

  1. Theme
  2. Root
  3. Busybox
  4. Extended Power Menu
  5. CRT-Off
  6. Toggles in Notification Dropdown
  7. etc.
Follow the steps precicely.
Note: Rooting voids warranty - continue at your own risk.

Steps:
  1. Download and save the Darky ODIN package to a folder on your computer.
  2. Backup all data including SMS - SMS Backup & Restore, Contacts - Google Sync, Apps+Data - Titanium Backup etc. 
  3. Enable USB Debugging from Settings -> Application -> USB Debugging.
    Do not connect the cable previously.
  4. Extract the downloaded package to a folder.
  5. Start ODIN v1.3
  6. Add the pit in the PIT field.
  7. Tick re-partition
  8. Put "JVU-RE.tar" into PDA
  9. Start phone in download mode. Turn off phone -> press and hold "VolDown+Home+Power" phone will boot into download mode.
  10. Connect USB cable to phone and computer.
  11. One port will turn yellow in ODIN
  12. Hit "Start"
  13. Sit back and relax.
  14. This can be performed whenever your phone stops responding or on any version.
Missing apps?
Here's what to do:

  1. Download the missing apps zip from the link bellow
  2. Put it on your internal SDCARD
  3. Open DarkyOTA -> General tab -> Flash/Install File from SDCARD -> browse to the ZIP
  4. You phone will reboot and the apps will be put on your SDCARD
  5. After your phone boots, use DarkyOTA -> General tab -> Install System Apps to install any or all of the missing Apps
Stock SystemUI.apk is also there for those that do not like the toggles and MIUI battery bar.

Missing apps will also be available in the updates section in DatkyOTA -> OTA tab.
